In the austral summer of 1911, a frantic race to reach the South Pole first took place. That exploration became one of the greatest adventures of mandkind, a challenge starred by the Norwegian Roald Amundsen and the British Robert F. Scott. Amundsen and Scott travelled to Antarctica to win a race and, although only one could be the first, both reached the glory.
